Dr. Keane and his wife, Laura, have two children, Ellis and Courtney.  

James Cooper Keane, MD

Dr. Keane is a fellowship trained Procedural Dermatologist/Mohs Surgeon, making him a premier specialist in skin cancer removal and reconstruction.   Mohs surgery is the most advanced technique for skin cancer removal available.  Dr. Keane has performed over 35,000 cases along with their complex reconstructions.  It is because of this experience and training that we offer our patients unrivaled care and results.

Training and Education

Dr. Keane received his MD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), in Little Rock, AR. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA and received numerous awards for his clinical skills and academics. His training continued at UAMS, in a residency program recognized for its intensive hands-on approach for Dermatology and Mohs Surgery.  

After completion of his residency and Board Certification in Dermatology, Dr. Keane was honored with a Surgical Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).  It was here that he completed a demanding training regimen in Procedural Dermatology/Mohs Surgery, and was again recognized for his outstanding clinical and reconstructive technique.  

As the founder of Skin Surgery Specialists, he and his staff are proud to serve the people of Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Mississippi.
